Project Goal:
Create an inclusive environment where Dalit and marginalized women can effectively exercise their
Right to Information (RTI) from government and non-government agencies to safeguard their
fundamental rights.


Objectives:

  • Empower Dalit and marginalized women in Satkhira district by enhancing their access to
    legal and social services through RTI.
    Ensure government and non-government agencies respond efficiently and equitably to RTI
    requests.
  • Strengthen the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Youth Key Informants to
    facilitate effective information flow for marginalized women.

 

Outputs:

  • 6523 beneficiaries will gain awareness and confidence to advocate for their rights.
  • 30 Dalit women from Nehalpur village received training through RTI applications, and 6 have accessed loan facilities from Youth development department
  • 17 tiger widow women has successfully obtained old age allowance cards through courtyard meetings in Buriguyalini Union under Shyamnagar Upazila
  • 09 Information boards with the names of designated RTI officers have been set up at the Upazila level
  • The school campaign, classes are being taught on RTI in 3 schools of Tala, Kalaroa and Assashuni upazila.

 

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increased utilization of RTI by Dalit and marginalized women to access services.
  • Improved capacity of government and NGO agencies to provide gender-responsive services
    under RTI.
  • Strengthened role of civil society and Youth Key Informants in advocating for the effective
    implementation of RTI and enhancing demand-side capacity for legal accessibility.
